Terms of Service

Last updated: July 19, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CypherHound Discord bot ("CypherHound," "the bot," "we," "us"). By inviting CypherHound to a server or issuing any command to it, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and, if applicable, the server you administer.

1. What CypherHound does

CypherHound provides on-demand lookups against public, third-party data sources — domain registration records (WHOIS), certificate transparency logs, IP geolocation, published vulnerability records (CVE/NVD), and platform-existence checks for usernames. CypherHound does not perform lookups intended to identify, locate, or profile a specific private individual (for example, it does not resolve phone numbers to names, addresses, or account ownership).

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use CypherHound to:

We may restrict, rate-limit, or remove CypherHound's access to a server, or block individual users, at our discretion if we believe these Terms are being violated.

3. No warranty

CypherHound relies entirely on third-party public data sources it does not control. Results may be incomplete, outdated, cached by the upstream provider, or simply wrong. CypherHound is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Do not rely on CypherHound's output for legal, security-critical, or safety-critical decisions without independent verification.

4. Availability

CypherHound is offered on a best-effort basis with no uptime guarantee or service-level agreement. Features may change, break, or be withdrawn at any time, including because an upstream data source changes its API or access policy.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of CypherHound is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the bot — including damages resulting from inaccurate lookup data or from any action you take based on it.

6. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of CypherHound after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

7. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to fludixbusiness@duck.com — replace this with your own contact address or support server invite before publishing.
